Schools shape children.
Children shape the world.
Why support education?
For every watch sold, August Berg funds quality education for a child in rural Africa or Asia — in partnership with the Human Practice Foundation.

The education crisis
244 million children won't start the new school year.
That's nearly 1 in 30 people worldwide — the size of the population of the United States.
Education is vital for children in rural areas: it offers better opportunities and improved health. But many children can't access it because of the distance they must walk to school. Ensuring access breaks the cycle — for the child, and for the family.

Education changes everything
Why access to education matters for underprivileged children.
Breaks the cycle of poverty
With education, children acquire the skills and knowledge to secure higher-paying jobs and lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
Empowers children
Education empowers children to take control of their lives, make informed decisions, and become active participants in their communities.
Improves social mobility
Education lets children move up the socio-economic ladder and increases their opportunities for a better future.
Fosters a more equitable society
When children from all backgrounds have the chance to learn and grow, social barriers fall and cohesion grows.
How we tackle the crisis
“Education is the right of every child and is a game-changer. A good education is the foundation for a child's success later in life and a common factor in ending cycles of poverty.”
UNICEF²
The economic growth Kenya has experienced has not benefited a large part of the population. 36% of the rural population lives in absolute poverty — and many children miss out on quality education. With the Human Practice Foundation and their strong local partners, we work to change that.
Our Journey

Together, we change the world, one wrist at a time!
Where it began.
August Berg is founded with a single, unwavering vision: every watch sold should contribute six months of quality education for a child in Asia or Africa. A small gesture on the wrist — a lasting one in a classroom.

20,000 watches sold = 1 school built.
We complete the construction of our very first school — Akadeli Primary School in rural Kenya — together with the Human Practice Foundation. A milestone made possible by every wearer who chose to spend their time well.

The next chapter — Nepal.
We remain fully committed to education. Construction of our second school is under way, this time in the mountains of Nepal — alongside our IT Academy in Taplejung that opens new doors for the next generation.

One step further
The IT Academy in Nepal.
August Berg — part of Norbreeze Group — is an early corporate partner with the Human Practice Foundation IT Academy in Taplejung. HPF has established nearly 100 schools across Nepal and Kenya.
Thanks to the initiative of Mr Waldemar Schmidt, Chairman of Norbreeze Group, with co-investors and partners, a state-of-the-art IT Academy is being built in a remote region of the Himalayan Mountains. As of March 2023, our team welcomed its very first intern — a Graphic Design Assistant for the August Berg brand.
